Area Sales Manager

North England

Specification sales of pressure independent flow and temperature control valves and heat interface units (HIU’s) for heating, cooling and domestic hot water applications in the commercial building services segment of the construction sector.

The Company

Frese Limited is the UK sales subsidiary of a thriving family owned, Danish based, world-leading manufacturer of pressure independent flow and temperate control valves and accessories for the commercial building services market.

The Frese business stretches back more than 70 years to 1944 when the business was founded in Slagelse in Denmark. Since its foundation, the business has built a global network of specialist distributors, sales offices and subsidiaries across the world, and is today represented in over 50 countries.

Since it was established in 2004 the UK business has grown its turnover profitably to £4.4M in 2017 and has maintained compounded annual growth rate of 22% since 2010 which compares with just a 3% construction industry growth rate during the whole period.

This extraordinary growth has been precipitated by a number of prestigious project wins including landmark building developments such as The Shard, BBC Media City, London Olympics Athletes Village and The Francis Crick Institute.

The Role

The successful candidate will be directly responsible for specifying the range of valves and HIUs with Consulting Engineers, Design & Build Contractors, Building Developers, Facility Managers, OEMs and other specifiers as well as creating a demand from mechanical and electrical contractors wishing to take advantage of the commercial benefits that can be demonstrated by use of the products.

Whilst it is envisaged that a large proportion of the role will involve presenting and promoting the product range to specifiers in the industry you will also be responsible for negotiation of business with contractors.

When required you will also review technical requirements and examine project schematic drawings to take-off valve requirements, sizing balancing products where necessary.

We require a ambitious technical sales professional with the capability to develop contacts and relationships in these market sectors.

It is likely that the successful candidate will be based in Lancashire or Yorkshire and will be required to work in this area as well as attend meetings at the Lancashire office or Danish head office and factory and elsewhere in the UK from time to time.

It is planned that the geographical boundaries of the territory will initially include as far north as the Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Carlisle postcode areas and as far south as the Llandudno, Chester, Crewe, Stoke-on-Trent, Derby, Nottingham and Lincoln postcode areas. However these boundaries will be finalised as we work through the recruitment process.
