The Danish Queen and Prince Consort visit Frese in Slagelse

Her Majesty The Queen Margrethe and The Prince Consort paid an official visit to Frese in Slagelse.

The Royal Couple visited the Frese Group head office in Slagelse on Thursday 16 September.

The distinguished visit was part of the Royal Couple's official tour of Slagelse Municipality.

HM Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik were officially welcomed by Director of Frese Holding, Johnni Frese. Søren B. Olsen and Jesper B. Hansen, directors of Frese A/S and Frese Metal- & Stålstøberi A/S respectively, joined by Frese family members, gave the Royal Couple a guided tour of the company's facilities.

HM The Queen visited the group's metal foundry and came close to the foundry's large smelting furnaces where, among other things, ship gears and pump houses are cast. The Frese foundry is a world-leader in the casting of these types of bronze elements for ships.

HRH Prince Henrik gained an insight into the manufacturing of automatic balancing valves for cooling and heating systems - products that Frese manufactures for the global market. The Prince Consort followed the valves from mould to finished product.

"We are very proud and honoured that the Royal Couple have chosen to include Frese as part of their official visit to Slagelse. HM The Queen and HRH The Prince Consort were both very interested in our companies and asked a lot of questions during the tour," says Johnni Frese, son of Frese founder Børge Frese, who started a modest foundry in a basement in Slagelse in 1944. The Frese family still owns the Frese Group today.
