No heating or hot water for Olympic Athletes without Frese valves

In summer 2012 the Olympic and Paralympic Games takes place in London where athletes and officials will be accommodated in the amazing new Athletes Village. Athletes Village is a unique project, and not just because of its vast scale. As well as being designed by some of the best architects in the world, its buildings, interiors and landscaping will be of the highest standard.

Currently under construction in Stratford, East London, Athletes Village will be a mixture of accommodation and community amenities. After the Games the Village will be transformed into residential accommodation as part of the ongoing regeneration of the area.

Each of the 2,818 new apartments in the village will be equipped with two Frese S valves. The Frese S is an outside adjustable dynamic balancing valve which allows flexibility for both designer and installer.

The Frese S valves are being installed to limit design flow and bypass flow through ELSON heat interface units (HIU's), which provide heating and domestic hot water, generated from a district heating scheme. Frese S valves ensure preset flow is delivered irrespective of fluctuating differential pressures, eliminating overflows and thus ensuring optimum pump efficiency. A major benefit of installing Frese S valves is that there is no time consuming proportional balancing to be done and the commissioning process becomes significantly faster and easier.

Frese valves were specified by leading consultancy practice, Hilson Moran Partnership.

- It is fantastic for Frese to be involved with such a high profile and prestigious development which will leave a legacy for future generations says Matthew Dunk, Sales Director, Frese UK.
