Royal Caribbean International

Project Overview and Details

The 2,500 passenger Jewel of the Seas is one of RCI's newest cruise ships (Maiden voyage: May 2004). The heart of the Jewel is the enormous atrium (Centrum), rising eleven decks. Other features include full day spa and gym facilities, lounge entertainment, conference facilities, glass elevators facing the sea and the highest percentage of outside cabins in the RCI's fleet.

Task

Reliable air-conditioning designed to maintain a comfortable onboard environment throughout the cruise.

Reliable, low-noise operation of the heating/cooling system with reduced maintenance requirements, particularly during voyages between Fort Lauderdale (Florida) and St. Petersburg (Russia).

Solution

Frese Automatic Balancing Valves were selected to support hydraulic balance of the heating/cooling circuit and help maintain the desired onboard temperatures.
